I sit next to a metabolic dietician, so I had easy access to an answer!

She said the mom needs to stick to her diet to manage her own
condition, but breastfeeding would not adversely impact her.  As long
as the baby tests normal (no PKU), then breastfeeding could proceed as
normal.
