calgary & SFU (simon frazier) up in canada also have independent archaeology
dep'ts; at calgary we had to take introductory courses in geology &
anthropology & linguistix, and they encouraged us to take relevant courses
from history, computer science, statistics, fine arts (back when they had a
good ceramics program), etc.
