Wasn't that solo played by Daniel Guilet? I think he was concertmaster part
of the time, along with Mischakoff.  I have the old LP pressing someplace
and suppose I could look it up, but...  Guilet was the original 1st violin
w/ the Beaux Arts Trio, and taught at Indiana U.  I met him once, through
one of his former students.
