Nina Berry [mailto:[log in to unmask]] wrote regarding breastmilk on
the burns:

Great minds ... But I wasn't game to post. If it were my kid, you can bet
your boobies, I would accidentally spray breastmilk all over her face with
regularity...

Nina - Your idea made me think of other questions: Would that be a good use
for the foremilk expressed before breastfeeding or set aside so that the
baby with the burns could be fed the hindmilk? Would the foremilk have
similar healing effects as the "whole" milk? That way none of the
breastmilk would be wasted. Does anyone know if the hindmilk adds to or is
the part that provides the healing effects? It could be an interesting
subject for a well-designed study. I wonder how receptive burn units would
be to participate. Breastmilk is a miracle drug and we are just discovering
some of its potential.

Warm regards,

Lee
