The power an Ipod approach was part of an idea developed in the UK as a
deisgn competition.

Kids shoes had inbiult pedometers. The shoes had to be "plugged in" to
allow their tv/computers/game stations to run. The more steps recorded,
the longer they would run. When your game turns off, you get up and run
around the block.

Wow, That is an awesome idea! Put a patent on that!!! We just got an
exhibit in where the visitor has to turn a hand crank to make the lights
or fan or mixer work but it makes more sense to use the energy that is
already being expended. A big plus would be the health benefit and
fighting obesity. Maybe for kids it could power their ipods!
