I'm not the most informed person on pros and cons of upcharging, but if you
do decide to upcharge for an exhibit, be sure to consider your members. In
my experience, some members have felt slighted if they are charged the
upcharge (or, in the case of blockbusters, not offered a substantial
discount to the regular upcharge). A particularly sticky situation can be
reciprocal members, who in many cases expect (perhaps rightfully) that their
reciprocal membership be treated the same as a membership to the institution
offering the exhibition.

Is there a consensus on the pros & cons of upcharging for a special exhibit?
I realize some contracts prohibit the practice and some don't. Are there
any success or "wish we hadn't" stories from the collective wisdom? Thanks!
