Hi Erich,

Knex are fun, but you might also check out "The Construction Site"
<http://www.constructiontoys.com/>
the website for a great set of stores that specializes in building/
engineering/construction toys.

They import many unusual products not normally available in the U.S.

Kapla blocks, Fischertechnik, and Lego DACTA are especially good.

Also, the Society of Civil Engineers has a grant from NSF to
introduce more "hands-on engineering" into museums.
You might check with Charlie Trautmann at the Ithaca ScienCenter for
more info.

If you need any help, let me know!
