I actually like both--depending on the playing and style in both cases--
and agree that what we enjoy is what counts here.  To that end there
really is no debate.  I just rue the fact that so few recordings are
made of Baroque music these days with modern strings to give me and
others like me more of a choice.  Beyond that, I have no argument with
you at all.
