It appears that 25-year-old Venezuelan Gustavo Dudamel will replace
Esa-Pekka Salonen as music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic at
the end of the 2008-2009 season.

Article in the LA Times here:

http://www.calendarlive.com/music/classical/cl-me-phil8apr08,0,6991694.story

The LA Phil has a history of going for young conductors. Consider that
Salonen was 34 when he took over and Zubin Mehta only 26 when he took
over in 1962.

Query: Has anyone here heard/seen Dudamel conduct?

Scott Morrison
