(I get the digest, so this may be old news already...)

This was posted in today's Slashdot ("News For Nerds - Stuff That
Matters"), along with *many* user comments

http://science.slashdot.org/science/06/11/28/1359230.shtml

This debate reminds me of our Tarnival tobacco project, when an
activity we came up with had to do with educating participants about
how companies are connected with one another. In one prototype
carnival game, you could take a beanbag and knock down, say, Kraft
Mac n Cheese to find out who owns Kraft. In this case, you'd
discover that the same people who own Kraft (and Nabisco) own Philip
Morris.

Racked with questions about legality and a sense of guilt about
American capitalism in general, we nixed the game.

It sure changed how *I* shop at the grocery store, though...I am
currently a pain to shop with. Hey - we all need a futile cause, and
there are plenty of substitutes for Oreos out there.

Good discussion, all!
