ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************

The discovery room at Science World (Vancouver, Canada) is looking to add a
giant skeleton and live mammals.

The skeleton will be at least 6 ft high and over 10 feet long – a dramatic
figure drawing visitors into the discovery room. Dinosaurs have obviously
crossed our minds, so we are looking for tips on casts that have worked well
for other hands-on museums, as well as ideas for other animals, prehistoric
or otherwise.

The live mammals will add to the current animal collection of insects,
spiders and a couple of reptiles and amphibians. We are looking for
something that can be used for demonstrations, but is not commonly seen by
the visitors, and is not aquatic. Porcupines and flying squirrels at other
science centres have sparked our interest in something unusual, but we are
interested in hearing recommendations (postitive and negative) on any
mammals other science centres have had.

Thanks.
