An important point to emphasise. This stuff also distorts and undermines 
public understanding of theology. It is deeply embarrassing to educated 
Christians, who could be a particularly effective ally in opposing it. 
Don't lose our support by allowing the "let's-stamp-out-religion" people to 
speak for science.

The following quote from the 31st July Associated Press report reveals why 
the worryingly effective strategy of the campaign is nothing for science 
communicators to joke about:

"John Morris, president of the Institute for Creation Research in San 
Diego...said the museum will affirm the doubts many people have about 
science..."

It is easier to undermine confidence than it is to build it.
