Kent Nagano has called an "urgent meeting" with Berkeley Symphony
musicians on Friday - a stop between Montreal and Munich - to be followed
by a press release.  Chances are that his 28th year as music director
here will be the last one, making the small orchestra here another "ex,"
along with LA Opera and Deutsches Symphonie (he was previously with Lyon
Opera and Halle Orchestra).  That will leave the Montreal Symphony and
the Bavarian State Opera.  Berkeley Symphony's associate conductor is
George Thomson.
