Rosco makes diffusing films (milky white) that come in different
densities. It can be purchased in rolls and you just cut off what you
need. If you get something below say <25% density you can stack the
stuff as needed right over top of the tubes. You give up a little
brightness in exchange for even light.

It's all meant for use in lighting/theater work and can be used right up
against all but the hottest lamps. Find the local theater supply house
(I bet you there are quite a few right there in Queens) and ask for a
sales rep to describe the products and get samples. It also wouldn't
supprise me if you go ask the exhibit depatment and they will already
have some. And actually Rosco makes all kinds of great colored filters
and other usefull stuff. As a holographer I made great use of their
green filter stock for safelights and the "black" aluminum foil for
light baffles.

We are mounting some back-lighted text labels and the florescent
bulbs are showing hot spots. I think there are diffusers to even out the
light.

Can you let me know what they are and where we can get them?

Thanks

Martin
