I'd like to echo Betty's comments - most text within a science centre gallery really functions as a cue for parents or other group leaders, so needs to be readable in a single glance.  This brings in issues to do with font, text size etc as well as the content.  Where we have exhibits that have an intended cognitive outcome, then we can use the existing group dynamic (including an "expert" dad, if available) to assist.  My question is how might this work where the objective of the exhibit is to explore like a scientist (with no intended cognitive outome)?  Can expert dad be deployed here too?
