That sure is true.  I happen to be single male in my early 30s, and the
first image in my head after reading your question --- but before even
opening the link containing the above-quoted description --- was that of
Tricia "Trillian" McMillan as portrayed by Zooey Deschanel in last year's
Hitchhiker's Guide movie.  With all due respect for political correctness on
this list, she was smokin' hot (in that nerd-meets-girl sort of way):

OK, let's have a little fun. Here's an article on how women scientists are
depicted in movies. It's not a very good article, but it did get me
thinking....who's my favorite fictional woman scientist? 
She's on TV, not movies, but I'm pretty fond of Catherine Willows on CSI. 
and of course there's Dr. FRAHNK-ensteins's assistant Inga from "Young
Frankenstein...."
