In the University of Western Australia undergrad medical school, a  
core breastfeeding unit was taught by Prof Hartmann back as far as  
the 1980s, and breastfeeding remains part of the core curriculum. The  
course as I recall it included the basics of breast anatomy and  
physiology, management of common breastfeeding problems, and  
mandatory attendance at an ABA (then NMAA) meeting.
