Pacific Science Center tried a transition to video kiosks in lieu of
paper handouts about 25 years ago...they went back to the handouts
eventually, since the visitors really liked to have something in their
hands with the daily schedule on it. OK, so it's not a successful
example...
If you do have display stations that give the daily schedule, I'd
recommend that you have the entire day's events listed on the screen.
One problem with the video stations at PSC in the early 1980s was that
the screen only listed the schedule for the upcoming two hours. People
really needed the full day's schedule to plan out their visit.

We are looking at the possibility of replacing our daily schedules
(currently on paper handed to visitors when they arrive at the museum)
with an electronic information display system. If anyone out there has
experience with making this kind of transition successfully, and found a
flexible solution which can be used in multiple locations on the museum
floor (as well as being easily updated), please let us know. Thanks, in
advance for the help!
