That might not be a bad idea. First, whatever they cover or don't  
cover, such treatment (sell her shoes???) is rude and should not be  
tolerated. That should be reported to the person's supervisor.  
Perhaps that will give you some leverage on covering the pump. At  
least it may give you someone more reasonable to talk with about how  
to solve the problem before you. I don't know if telling them that  
there are insurance companies in Mass. that cover pumps will help,  
but it may be worth a try as well.

share with us what worked.
