Thanks Esther and everyone who has sent the link!
I am trying to make the most of my trip...it's taken me 36 years to get
there for the first time, how long will it be before I get back again, maybe
another 36 years!
Something that I really want to do while I am in the UK is do some
continuing education for professional and lay breastfeeding supporters about
relactation and adoptive breastfeeding. I have been contacted by several
adoptive mothers in the UK wanting to breastfeed their adopted children
(older babies and toddlers) and they have found it difficult/impossible to
find knowledgeable people to help them. There has also been a raised
awareness about adoptive breastfeeding recently (remember the Extraordinary
Breastfeeding program and an adoption mag published an article of mine a few
monts ago) so there may be increased need for expertise in this area. I've
sent feelers out to a few places to see if it would be possible to organise
for me to speak but time is short (I arrive in a week) and the feedback I
have received thus far is not promising. Does anyone here know people who
might be willing to organise something at such short notice...

My motto....the only lactation professionals who don't need to know about
relactation are those who don't know any mothers who have prematurely
weaned!
