There are grant-funded mural arts projects popping up in cities
involving urban summer camps and after school program children, who are
paired up with professional artists. Our mural in Children's Zoo is
beautiful, three dimensional, and cost 20% the staff time of three weeks
to oversee developing and implementing the project. A different mural
arts program is painting two sides of an entire bridge leading to the
zoo.

I know some places would just like to pay to have it done with a
specific esthetic vision and artist, so your cost is very dependent on
the artist and the medium. But there are opportunities to include the
community with great results! It can also be a bricks and mortar fund
raiser, especially the three dimensional designs. Families
participating can donate $ for tiles (ours were in the shapes animals)
decorate them and have them placed on the wall. The Indianapolis
Children's Museum had that tiled walkway to their Imax that I thought
was breathtaking. I had to look at every tile.

Just some thoughts...

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have the going rate for mural work? Based on square
footage. I
know it depends on how detailed you get.
