The following was just posted. I am dismayed and frustrated that this has
happened yet again. This personal opinion of another lactnetter should have
been sent privately NOT to the list (in my opinion). Lactnet is a place of
many opinions and experiences from all over the world. Nothing said or
discussed is a personal attack on any other institution, person or 'way' of
doing things. Not everyone will agree with everyone else. Please don't
take personal offense. If you don't agree, express yourself either
positively to the group, counter what one poster writes with what is
happening in your world - invite education and healthy discussion and learn
about what goes on in the many different areas of the world. If you take
offense to what was written, either move on and forget it, or take your
feelings (like written below) to the person directly - keep it private.
Negative Personal feelings, judgments and criticisms about other Lactnetters
do NOT have a place here. Ever. It is, in my opinion, unprofessional,
disrespectful to the group and to the individual being written about. What
one finds offensive another does not.

""You have written many interesting posts and others that have become
increasingly offensive to me as a hospital based IBCLC. Your black-or-white
views on the perfect home birth vs. hospital birth from hell may relieve
your frustrations, but they increase mine. This is a safe and enlightening
place that I can go after a hard day at work. I know that I can find
support and encouragement from my fellow Lactnetters. I want ideas on how
to improve my practice and support the families that I work with. I have
enjoyed the lively debates on different topics. I have appreciatiated
different people expressing their feelings in nonjudgemental ways. I think
that as an intelligent and enlightened women, you could be a powerful tool
for change. Remember that if you are not part of the solution, you are part
of the problem. In other words, please don't ripdown everything about
hospital based birthing, provide comments that promote change.""
