Dr. Jack Newman has said what I have thought for years. We spend so much
time making things about breastfeeding that may make more progress if it made
it about the mothers and babies regardless of feeding method. ALL babies and
moms need skin to skin and time together after birth. As Dr. Odent has
pointed out, event those who never planned to breastfeed may find themselves drawn
to it if given the chance to truly have that important time after birth.
Skin to skin matters for all babies. Think of the babes and mothers having an
easier go of breastfeeding in those early hours if the standard of care was
that all babies have skin to skin time to transition into the world. Thank
you Dr. Newman.

Take care,
