ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************
When I was a curator at Science World British Columbia, we used the
electricity generated from a solar panel as well as water flowing and
wind blowing and a hand crank to ACTIVATE separate musical robots.
These were powered by another source as long as the exhibit was
putting out a certain threshold. Each exhibit also showed the real
amount of electricity being generated for those who were interested
in that kind of thing. Each "robot" played a separate line of music
as a metaphor of the various different energy sources working
together to meet our "needs." If interested, this web page should
have some more images of the exhibit in the Our World gallery on
sustainability.
