Thank you for expanding the definition of science for me. I come to science
centers from an art/design/humanities background and almost everything that
you have said about science can be said about these other disciplines -
artists and philosophers inquire into pretty much everything too. Science
hasn't cornered the market on explanation and inquiry.

A concept that helps me when looking at definitions is to "distinguish" them
as well as "define" them. What "distinguishes" science from other
disciplines. From what I  have read thus far and from what I glean elsewhere
is that science is based on proof, dependable, repeatable, formulaic proof.

I welcome your expansion on the distinction of science from other
disciplines.
