Paul (and others)--

Below is a list I've compiled of sources for science images (emphasis on
astronomy and earth science). Depending on what kinds of images you're
seeking from NASA, this may be helpful.

Caveats:
In many cases, these sources make high-res digital files available for
download, often at no charge. Some of the sources ask that you contact
them to approve use of their images; others just require that the proper
image credit be used. And in a few cases there are fees involved, so
you have to read the fine print.

The usability of the search functions varies considerably, etc., but is
not necessarily any more laborious than tracking down the right person
to help you within NASA -- which as others have pointed out, is a large
organization with many image-producing arms. But fortunately much of
their imagery is available on the web!

Regards,
Tamara

Does anyone have a specific contact name or NASA office for obtaining
high res. images to use in exhibit graphics?

I'm a little fuzzy on how the rights/costs/permissions issues shake
down on NASA images, since they are essentially produced using our
"tax dollars".

Any guidance or information would be appreciated.
