Be very careful when discussing any device marketed for "safe sleep." The
research isn't there to establish whether these things are safe or risky.

No research has shown a risk to the baby from a sober (non-drugged),
nonsmoking, breastfeeding mother on a safe surface.

Hello all,
One Step Ahead also carries a "pricier" in-bed cosleeper

though I haven't seen these in stores yet. I imagine with either product,
nursing would be more difficult, but its still better then a crib ;o) Thanks
for sharing a less expensive way

Just wanted to share what several of my clients are doing. Their babies are
sleeping between mom and dad in their bed on a contoured changing mat. I
don't know what it is called but it's for changing diapers on a table or
chest of drawers. It is slightly contoured so that a young baby can't roll
off of it. It is a common baby shower gift in this vicinity. I find parents
much more accepting of baby sleeping this way, (kind of in his own bed, but
easily accessible) than with baby directly on their bed. Moms worry less
about the possibility of either of them rolling over on the baby.
