Hi Flossie and All,
This topic has interested me, also, ever since I had my business cards made
up: "Dianne E. Oliver, IBCLC, MA" (I have a Master's Degree in Holistic
Counseling Psychology). I had them printed this way because I consider
myself a lactation consultant first and foremost, although I obtained the
Master's Degree before taking the IBCLC exam.. After having them made up,
I noticed that something didn't seem right about how I Iisted the
credentials, and I realized that, to my eye, the "MA" kind of stands out
when it's listed last. Since I wanted the IBCLC to stand out, I've started
signing everything else "Dianne E. Oliver, MA, IBCLC" and will soon change
my business cards to read this way. I was able to justify this in my own
head as I did receive the MA first, then the IBCLC title, and it makes
sense to me to list the titles in chronological order.
