Marsha Dunn Klein, OT and feeding specialist (author of Pre-Feeding
Skills) has a practice in Tucson AZ named Mealtime Notions. She has
helped other bf toddlers overcome medically based sensory feeding
aversions while respecting the breastfeeding relationship. Perhaps mom
can ask her OT to consult with Marsha (Marsha does workshops on feeding
problems frequently for other OTs), or see Marsha herself. Marsha has
worked with out of town families before, she has them come to AZ for a
weekend or a week and works with the baby a few times, sends them back
with "homework" and has them come back periodically until things are
worked out.

Breastfeeding is neurologically organizing, something that kids with
sensory integration or sensory processing disorders have difficulty
with. The last thing we'd want to take away is the comfort nursing.
Everything will work better for this baby when she is more organized.
