They were.  When all of this was "hot" there was a statement from the 
national association of compounding pharmacies. I'm not sure what the 
organization's title is.  This organization made it clear in response that 
even though the FDA contacted pharmacies warning them to NOT prepare 
domperidone they, in fact, have no control over compounding pharmacies.  I 
had a copy of this statement in my files but lost it to spyware in March 
2005.  I'll bet that someone else on Lactnet has a copy of it. Or if you 
know a compounding pharmacist he/she will be able to clarify the 
jurisdiction issue. Or just contact the organization directly.

Of course, some compounding pharmacies were scared off by the FDA and 
stopped filling physicians' prescriptions but many continued as they do 
with any non-manufactured prescription.

The book that I am reading is Selling Sickness, How the World's Biggest 
Pharmaceutical Companies are Turning Us all Into Patients, by Ray Moynihan 
and Alan Cassels.
Most Lactnetters will not really be surprised at the disclosures. I have 
been reading it for the past couple of days when I should have been doing 
*many* other things.
