In the fall of 2005, I sent a message to the list describing my 
project, Science in the City.  I am a chemist working with Flandrau 
Science Center and local high school students to build travelling 
exhibits on a topic of the students' choosing.  Because I am in the 
chemistry department at University of Arizona, I also help the 
students to see the chemistry that is related to their project and to 
understand how chemistry relates to their lives.

This summer I would like to present a paper at the Biennial 
Conference on Chemical Education, which gathers high school and 
college educators from throughout the country, about chemistry in 
informal settings and how high school chemistry teachers can take 
advantage of exhibits at science centers to teach 
chemistry.  Therefore, I'd like to hear about how chemistry is 
represented in programs and exhibits at your centers.  Please send 
the answers to the following questions and any other comments you may 
have off-list to Rachel Morgan Theall at [log in to unmask]:

1.  How is chemistry represented in exhibits at your establishment?

2.  Do you have any school programs dedicated to chemistry?

3.  What percentage of your exhibit space addresses topics related to 
chemistry (estimation is acceptable)?

4.  Would your science center be interested in creating more 
programs/exhibits about chemistry?

5.  What center are you associated with and may I contact you for 
more information?

The abstract has to be submitted today for the conference.  I will 
word it generally but would like those who are willing to answer the 
questions as soon as it is convenient.
