While, for much of work that is probably true, but then I would wager
the person who wrote that never heard Diamond's Sixth Symphony.

It is a shame that Delos was not able to continue its project of
recording all of his Symphonies.  When I first heard the Seattle
recording of the Second Symphony I noticed there were some additional
measures which were not included in the Koussevitzky broadcast...it was
a dub of that performance that had sparked my interest in Diamond's
music.  I wrote Diamond asking him about the difference.  He replied
mentioning that Koussevitzky had to cut the work to fit it into the time
given to the broadcast.  Diamond wrote that he was very happy with the
project, but doubted he would live long enough to see it completed.
Sadly, he was right.
