I just checked to make sure, but Healthy Children in conjunction with
Union Institute and University does offer a PhD in Human Lactation.  You
can get more information about this program at www.healthychildren.cc.  I
do know that the majority of the work is done as a distance option, with
there being some minimal on-campus visits during the program.  They also
offer a B.A. and M.A.
