Another inquiry about a "Baby Expo" has led me to "spill the beans" about a
button my ILCA affiliate will be selling at ILCA 2005 in Chicago: It says
"Ask me about your free baby gift." It has our website listed (so people
know who generated the button), but the idea is that BF advocates who work
with mothers will wear them. Of course, the free baby gift is BF. (I hope
all who are attending will buy a bunch to distribute at their workplace --
perhaps to celebrate WBW!)
The writer asks how she can counter the sticker, offered by the formula
company, that is being used to lure mothers into that booth for a free can
of formula. Maybe she could create a similar button or sticker, to freely
distribute to mothers: "Ask me about my free baby gift" or "I already have
my free baby gift." As mothers visit the BF-advocate booth, they get a
sticker and perhaps some literature about BF. Let there be a battle of the
stickers!!
It is quite inexpensive when buttons are done in large numbers, and there
are dozens of sites on the Web that make up special-order buttons.
