Again, I am requesting your expertise and wisdom. I have been trying to
keep track of when I see this sucking pattern. It seems to follow more
C/s births having Demerol PCA's for pain control. I can't remember if it
was with epidurals and stadol or the epidurals that ended up C/S.
This just reminded me that I wanted to post on two moms I saw who had
anesthetic placed into their incisions with a catheter and had no post op pain.
They breastfed within the first hour, were quite mobile and babies were about
back to birthweight by day 5 (day of home visit). One was a second baby, the
other a first. I was very impressed with how they reported that
breastfeeding had gone so easily during their hospital stay. The method is called On-Q
and a link to info on it follows. Any one else had experience with this?
