Richard,
I'm currently focused on an exhibit about the space shuttles main engine.
The SSNE is an amazing piece of work-
You may want to look into it-
-all 3 main engines output is equivalent to the power generated by 23
Hoover dams
-one engine averages 37,000 RPM's
-combustion chamber 1000 degrees F
-the hydrogen and oxygen pump power is equivalent to 39 locomotives.
-4.5 KM per second of thrust

Dear All
As a new comer to the ISEN-ASTC chat room, We are currently re-furbishing
the Power Hall at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester and
taking a fresh look at introducing some new interactives, and more
specifically how we understand and interpret what power is? for an
introduction area.
I realise it is certainly a large topic and this is primarily an
investigative approach.
At this point we have a number of ideas that we have already prepared and
ready to run with- a number of 'irons in the fire. eg waterwheel, Stirling
engine etc. We are hoping there are further ideas that someone has
experience as being successful.
What we are concentrating on the user side and how intuitive the operation
is and the reward factor being action packed! (don't want much)
Anyone with any thoughts at this stage that would be able to assist or
point us in new direction to research more.
Many Thanks in advance.
