Thanks, Rebecca, for the information on Macy's T-shirt. I went on-line and
ordered one. It looks great! Heart issues tend to be quite common in my
area, including what I think is a higher than normal incidence among
newborns. Hypoplastic heart occurs in higher numbers in a swath along the
Fox River Valley, which is a north-south corridor about 40 miles west of
Chicago, than nationally. I'm working with a mom/baby right now - baby was
diagnosed at <12 hours old with prolonged Q-T interval. Docs are not sure
why, but fortunately his only symptom so far was a short period of
bradycardia (resting HR in the 60's) and he has been nursing well. He most
likely will go home on a monitor and of course will follow up with peds
cardiology. Our hospital opened our new Heart Center last month - hmmm.
Maybe we could bulk order these shirts to sell as a fundraiser and raise
awareness in 2 areas - women's heart health and breastfeeding!
Thanks, again, for the info.
