I've had good luck calling the customer service department of U.S. Tobacco
Company, although I think they might have changed their name slightly. You
can look on the side of a modern Copenhagen container to get the company
name and location, then call directory assistance. In one case, they were
able to let me know that a particular lid design was used only in 1935!

Subject: Copenhagen Snuff Tins

Hello All-

I'm trying to date a round tin lid embossed COPENHAGEN SNUFF. The center of
the lid has what appears to be the letter W superimposed on the letter C.

Does anyone have information on dating Copenhagen snuff tins?
