cork liners of bottle caps. You took the cork liner out and 
then affixed the bottle cap to your lapel(blouse or shirt) 
and then pushed the cork liner back into the bottle cap from 
the underside of the lapel.That would keep them on as a badge 
of Royal Crown Cola, or Vernor's Ginger Ale etc.   dgo
