As some-time lurker, I surface here to ask a few questions.
Is anyone on this list working with maternity hospitals in Afghanistan? Or
does anyone know of projects based in the US that are doing this?
The reason I ask is that I have come upon a US military unit that is
providing assistance to several maternity hospitals in Afghanistan and they
are requesting basic medical supplies and baby blankets, as they never seem
to have enough.
I am willing to coordinate an effort to ship certain items there for them to
distribute, but don't want to duplicate efforts.
Also, I was irked by their request for pacifiers! I would like to send them
breastfeeding resource books but don't have any extras myself. Does anyone
have an older edition of the "Breastfeeding Answer Book" that they would
like to donate?
I will let the list know if/when this takes off, and where to send donations.
Please reply privately to me, not on-list, if you have any interest in this
project.
Thanks!
