If you can get hold of it, try the Koch recording (Koch 3-7270-2) with
my favorite violist, Paul Silverthorne, and John Constable on piano.
It also features Britten's Lachrymae and the very early Hindemith Sonata,
part of op. 11, for a total time of 66:46. To me, there's not much to
choose between them and the Bashmet/Richter. I haven't heard Zimmerman.
