This would NOT be a reason to wean.  In the 4 years I have been doing 
lactation-only, we have had one mom of twins with MRSA abscess.  She is a 
nurse, and she did wean after she had a second abscess in the other breast, 
but this was HER choice.

Removing milk from the breast is the best plan when mastits is present...not 
abrupt weaning.
