My six year old, who is no longer breastfeeding, has a grand case of
thrush.  She hasn't been on antibiotics in years...

So, my questions are:

Why/how did she get it?  I've never heard of a 6year old getting it
without being on antibiotics....

and

1 tsp of Nystatin 4 x a day for how long past symptoms?

I've never had thrush, so this is the first time I'm glad she's weaned...

It was rather amusing, the doc was looking in her mouth (because she's
had a bad cold/cough and I wanted to check her ears, chest) and I was
looking behind her and I said, wow, she has thrush!  The doc was amazed
I knew what it was!  (This was a new family pract. doc I hadn't seen
before).  I'd seen it in baby's mouth but not in my own child's.
