And I don't just mean a grand or wonderful aunt, but a great one.
My neice Terry gave birth to a baby girl, Jordan, yesterday by c-section
at Del Sol Hospital in El Paso, TX. Baby was 6 pounds 6 ounces, born on
time. There was some worry about iugr, but I think the baby is OK, just
small. Terry is not big, and she had heart problems as a infant, and
open heart surgery... The baby seems to be nursing fine but has
problems maintaining body temperature, I told them to do lots of skin to
skin.
Anyone on this list from El Paso? If so, can you email me...
My Sister-In-Law did not breastfeed her kids, she "didn't have enough
milk." I don't think she really tried, or got information, she also is
a smoker, and she was told it was better to fomula feed if she smoked.
Terry really seems to want to breastfeed and I think I've influenced
them. I sure hope she does this. Terry is a 19 year old single mom, so
life will be hard enough--breastfeeding can only make it easier.
Joylyn
