ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************

The most recent NSF survey (2001) found that 47% of respondents answered
false to the statement:" "human beings, as we know them today, developed from
earlier species of animals."
The NSF survey also found that only 30% of respondents said they had visited
a science museum in the last 12 months.
What the NSF survey does not tell us is what percent of those who had visited
a science center answered false to the statement about evolution. What's
your guess?

Do museums know what percent of their visitors hold creationist beliefs?
Until you know the answer to this question, how can you make valid and
reliable decisions about the impact that an exhibit or film will have on your
visitation numbers?
