Hi, all:
I am interested in knowing whether or not your museums use LEGOs in
your
in-house or outreach educational programs or if you have a LEGO-based
exhibit
or LEGO center. Please describe briefly your use of LEGOs. Thanks,

Hi Barbara,

At Pacific Science Center in Seattle, we have a LEGO rover on Mars that
can be piloted from your home computer! Our rover was built by a local
middle school robotics club. It is equipped with a web camera and
receives drive commands over the internet using LEGO's Red Rover
software adapted for use over the internet by The Planetary Society.

Try it at http://rover.pacsci.org

We contacted a local LEGO enthusiasts group Brick World who painted a
futuristic Martian landscape and built a model of the MER lander.
Summer Camp kids drew pictures of themselves on Mars that we placed on
the landscape. It has been very well received. In general, the LEGO
enthusiasts were fun to work with and seem very willing to share their
talents. I believe they have quite an extensive network nationwide.
Also: the folks at the Planetary Society are wonderfully helpful with
any technical issues. http://redrovergoestomars.com/
