The whole hand is above the breast, with the fingers pointing toward the
floor.  Two adjacent fingers straddle the areola and press back toward
the chest wall and together slightly, to firm the anterior breast.  I
like this technique when the breast is soft and the baby either gets
lost in it, or the breast changes configuration as the baby tries to
latch and pushes him off!  I learned it by trial and error trying to get
some way for one of these moms (who also had a bad case of dyspraxia-
motor planning deficit- she always wondered why she could not follow the
aerobics instructor!) to stabilize the breast.
