I have found that sending a copy of the Peds journal article noted below to
be very helpful in educating the pediatricians in my area. My intention
was to send it to every ped who works with my clients but I have not
accomplished that yet. I see the babies at home and when I see a tongue
tie I talk with the family about it and I fax a copy of the article along
with my report to the doctor before the parents call. This saves face for
the sensitive physician so that when she/he gets the call there are fewer
mis-treatments.

November issue, Vol 110 no.5. It was written by Jeanne L Ballard, MD,
Christine E Auer, RN, IBCLC and Jane C. Khoury, MS. The title is
"Aknlylogossia: Assessment, Incidence, and Effect of Frenuloplasty on the
Breastfeeding Dyad."
