That is so unspeakable! What I want to know is why DON'T most of the mothers I
urge to go to lactation consultants- even free or with coverage through
insurance- Why DON'T they go? I should make up an official looking form so that
they realize this is a referral from me just like I would send to an
audiologist, speech pathologist, physical therapist (I'm purposely using non MD
as examples) I think I'll try next time on a script- I just don't get it! I had
a mother who quit after her third mastitis (in less than 2 months)- weaning was
decided between her and the OB - after each of my visits she said that she
would go to the LC- but then didn't- I finally asked her why she didn't go- she
said she just didn't have the time!
