Valerie,

Check your yellow pages to see if you have a kite shop in town.  They
should have a variety of different rods that you can try.  If you
don't have a kite shop in town you can call Goodwinds Kites. If you
tell them how springy or stiff you want the rod they should be able
to help you find the right one.
